Why VAMP matters to merchants

Visa’s Acquirer Monitoring Program (VAMP) took effect April 1, 2025. It combines reported fraud (TC40) and disputes (TC15) into a single ratio and counts transactions rather than dollars, which hits card-not-present and recurring-billing merchants hardest.

Merchants above the thresholds face fees and remediation requirements, and acquirers pass that pressure straight down to the merchants in their portfolios. Use this guide to manage your dispute and fraud exposure and stay below the thresholds.
